Assessing the Effects of Conservation Measures on Soil Erosion in Arasbaran Forests Using RUSLE

Vegetation cover is known as one of the most dominant parameters in soil erosion that can considerably affect drivers. This study aimed to assess effects vegetation on conservation Arasbaran Forests, Iran. A part Arsbaran forests has been protected for 45 years. The other not under protection during these was carried out order investigate forest management changes amount and compare it with non-protection sector. To this end, 66 samples were grouped two selected elevation classes. Out every three sample plots, plot randomly collecting samples. Landsat 8 images a Digital Elevation Model utilized collection via ENVI (Environment Visualizing Images) GIS (Geographic Information System), respectively. Then, Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE) employed estimate annual loss studied sites. results showed 9.84 10.06 tons per hectare/year non-protected areas, Moreover, average 9.95 calculated whole Forests. statistical test revealed no significant difference between sites terms rates (p > 0.05). Based findings, despite non-significant slightly lower unit area site, there notable throughout entire area.
